Is there any way to add arrows if there is no Divisi Change?

I assume that the answer is no, but just to try…

The difference between the two is that the first one does not have a Divisi change, but rather a Condensing change, whereas the second one does have a Divisi change.

So why doesn’t No. 2 “work for you”?

Because I want to toggle between condensing and non-condensing in a divisi section player. If I do it like the second one, I have to write every condensing manually on one staff. Additionally, I can’t achieve the well-done condensing that Dorico provides in a fast way.

Another thing would be if you can think of a way to indicate a system change, switching from 1 to 2 or from 2 to 1. Right now, the performers will get confused when there is a frame break.

I wouldn’t like to add a graphic, text, or frame image to do it, but if that were the only solution…

If this is for singers (who aren’t having individual parts just of their ‘instrument’), then I wouldn’t use Condensing at all. I would just use Divisi. As you also suggest, it’s best to keep changes to a minimum, as singers get confused easily.

I have added arrows before, when Dorico wouldn’t show them for some reason. I just added a text object and moved it into place.

I’ll keep that in mind. Regardless of that, I think Dorico should consider this to add the arrows, not just for divisi changes.
