Is there any way to hide this? (Galley View)

It gets in the way of my high-pitched notations when playing in galley view. It’s frustrating.

You could increase this value under Library→Layout Options→Vertical Spacing.

Or change the size (or other parameters) of the paragraph style Galley View Margin Labels

If you want to remove it completely, you can delete the instrument name in Setup Mode — you can add it back later so it appears in the staff labels in page view.

This is annoying me now. Like, give me the option to hide it. No matter the spacing, it still shows up.

Doesn’t work, it deletes the score with it too.

Then do what @MarcLarcher is suggesting above. In Paragraph Styles > Galley View Margin Labels, set the font to 0 pts.

Nothing works. I wonder if I can delete the instrument and keep the score? That would be so helpful.

Could you supply the file?

Here you!

How about now?

Or another version where the bar numbers stay legible in Galley View (you apparently don’t use the staff labels in the Full Score/Page View, so I removed the Instrument Name. Should you need them, it’s still possible by displaying the Player’s name instead)

Now it covers more of my notations, haha. Plus, I believe you have a later version of Dorico, I have 5.

Ah, maybe the Galley view margin labels paragraph style is new in Dorico 6. You could just scroll a little to avoid it.

Okay, I guess I’ll figure something out. It’s fine. I do appreciate your help and patience. Have a lovely day ahead.

Is Fill View an option (available in Dorico 6)?

I have Dorico 5.

Surely you can scroll so that what you want to work on isn’t right at the edge?

If it’s the very first bar, then either add a bar, or work in Page View…?
