Is there any way to release the cubase memory utilization manually?

I’ve a project. When open it from the windows platform it utilized around 10G memory. However when open it from mac it will reach to almost 16G.
Then I made test and found even I removed all tracks, or even close the project, the cubase still cost 5 - 6 G.
Is there any way to manually release the memory?

That’s not how modern OS’s work. You don’t “release” memory. Some memory may be wired down for sample streaming purposes, but for the most part RAM is automatically employed where it’s needed.

The problem here is I am using a basic specification mac (M2 pro 16G memory). With purge/cache/lite version features I could control my memory under 10G with a pop song. However if cubase couldn’t release the memory, it will over the hardware limitation and popup will be heard…

Those features don’t release anything. They reduce the amount of RAM needed. In other words you don’t want to release anything. Instead you want to use smaller versions of the multisampled instruments. Most sample-based VSTi’s have a feature where you can use a lite version which reduces the amount of RAM needed.

Also in Kontakt Instruments there is a feature that lets you purge any unused samples which can save a bunch of space.

Yes, that’s an example of the feature I mentioned above to reduce the size of the multisample. In Omnisphere that’s called “Sample Thinning Training”, which is one of various options for reducing the multisample size.
