So when you chop/split drum loop and say there are snare parts and you want to select those snare parts (lets say 8 of them) and make it ‘muted’.
Whenever I want to multi-select audio waves, I enjoy using ‘SHIFT’ key right?
But inside cubase, there automatic multi-functioning happening with location of mouse cursor?
So it ‘can be’
- select
- changing starting point
- moving end/start point of conjoint wave audio parts
BUT lets say, I just want to quickly ‘select’, would there be short or force key of it?
WHEN I zoom out (bird’s eye view zoom out) and try to quickly select multiple wave parts,
Sometimes it feels a bit stressful, especially when I do this for very very complicated chops.
If there are no such thing, I would love this feature to come on board!
Hi,
I believe, you want to select the Audio Events.
- The Shift selects from-to.
- The Ctrl/Cmd selects the specific objects, you click at.
- You can use lasso selection with your mouse.
- You can use Range Tool selection.
Yeah, but sometimes I make mistake unintentionally, because when my mouse cursor is close to the starting point ‘or’ end point the selection icon changes to start/end changer function u know? so above is the way to force ‘only’ selecting multiple audio parts…? I believe?
Of course, this is the case when I had to select more than 100 snares (for example) on a track.
Hi,
Even if you click on one of the hotspots, the Audio/MIDI Event/Part becomes selected.
Right! um.. I don’t quiet follow u .. so Cubase does not have such function …right? It still have multiple function engaged depends on the location of the mouse cursor right? if it does not have it, it is ok, I just wanted to ask just in case
For me, sometimes it saves a lot of time, when I can ‘just’ select with cursor when I carefully have to click 10s and 100s of audio files haha… it is very hard to explain but sometimes I do many direct offlines and choose after a/bing
*hope I don’t confuse in any way haha…
Hi,
Correct. Cubase doesn’t have such function.
Thank you for confirming, it is all right!
I wonder if “Media → Select in project” could help for such a workflow.
So let’s say, I have snare audio track:
- I have 3 lanes, and all have different ‘clipper’ direct-offline processed.
- carefully a/b then choose to mix, and select ones that I would use, through out the audio track (e.g. 3 min long/ 100 bars etc) I get to choose/select the ones I would use, and hotkey to PUT them infront (final ones)
- So when there are many audios and where mistake should not be made, sometimes it becomes needy for quick execution, just to have ‘selection’ mode?
So for ‘1’, it is object slection/normal sizing right?
Sometimes I just want object selection. haha..
I am the only one who might find it useful so… it is all good, I can find wayarounds haha…
but thanks!
You know sometimes, these multi-functioning depending on the location of mouse cursor can be good? but sometimes very troublesome when zoomed out and trying to do just one thing u know.. haha… Thanks though!
