Hello Friends,
I’am writing a piece, you can see in this example, flute 4#, soprano sax 6# and altsax 5b.
According me it must be 7# for the alto sax?
Is this a problem in Dorico?
Who can help me?
Thanks for help!

Dorico is choosing Db M instead of C# because of this Notation Option:
If you untick it, you should get 7 sharps.
5 flats for the alto sax is Db major, which is enharmonically equivalent to C# major (7 sharps). So what you have there is not wrong.
If you’d prefer to see 7 sharps, one solution is to go to Notation Options > Accidentals > Transposition and untick “Prefer enharmonic equivalent key signatures with fewer accidentals”. Note that this will apply to all instruments in the flow.

Maybe before following this excellent advice you should talk to your sax players.
Most that I know would prefer D-flat major rather than C-sharp.
Ofcourse, thanks for help and wish you a nice weekend!

Thanks Aaron. I’ve changed it, but can’t remove it in the sent mail![]()
You should be able to edit your post on the forum itself. I don’t think the e-mail you sent is relevant anymore.

As a sax player, I’d prefer a different key altogether! ![]()
