Isolate a note from a chord

Hello!

What would be the most effective tool/method to isolate a note,

for example the Major third (E) from a C-Major Triad?

The source audio file would be a Piano sample.

I click on the bottom note and use the ↑key to move to the middle note.

(one could always start on the top note of the chord and use the ↓key.
