Issue: Dorico 6 Freeze-crashes when altering bars before a coda

Top Line Issue:

Dorico 6 becomes unresponsive and has to be force-quit when a) deleting bars that occur between a segno symbol and its DS before a Coda section, and b) when pasting material after the DS Al Coda mark but before the Coda section when the pasted material contains a duplicate segno symbol, and c) sometimes when adding bars just before the Coda section.

Details:

I’ve had this problem with multiple different files from different origins.

I have a song that contains a DS al Coda, and my goal is to unwrap the DS section so I can simplify the song’s “roadmap” and provide different orchestrations underneath.

Here’s the process for anyone that wants to try and duplicate the bug.

  1. I add the number of empty bars into which I want to paste music at the original “D.S. al Coda” mark (so I’m adding bars just before the Coda).
    • Note: This step also often causes a crash just by itself, as does deleting bars anywhere before the coda after any bars have been added..
  2. Using the System Track, I select everything in the bars I want to copy to those empty bars (everything from the segno symbol up to the original D.S. al Coda mark).
    • Note: At this point, I have not removed any repeat marks, including the original segno and the original D.S. al Coda mark.
  3. I paste all the material (including segno symbol) into the bars I’ve just added.

I can’t understand why this would be happening.

Thanks in advance for any help resolving this!

Sorry you are having problems.

I think you would need to provide the team with the problem score too.
