I encountered this one on the latest project, which was using a mix of external HW and plugins, varying between different clips: I have used the external gear plugin for years, and have been happy with how it works. So it was time as well, BUT: when trying to render a clip without it, I still had to do it realtime. In fact, if I bypassed or turned off all instances of the external plugin, or even moved the clips having it to another track, I still had to render realtime. Only by creating a copy of the project and deleting all other clips could I bounce.
Bug or a feature? Is the external plugin “tied” to an output? Pilot error? Perhaps it’s actually easier to learn the pitch’n’catch workflow
Edit for clarity: what I would expect is that a clip that doesn’t have the external gear plugin, can be bounced non-realtime, even if other clips use it.
Any advice?
