Issue no audio incoming via interface on 12.0.70

Cannot for the life of me get any Audio into Cubase 12 pro 12.0.70
Have tried various interfaces
All was working prior to the update
Currently only soft synths make any sound
Quantum 2626 recognised set up correctly nothing coming in on any line in channel
Motu m2…… same issue

If we can fix it I can get my £199 refunded spent grabbing logic this week. (Interfaces grab sound in Logic no problem)

Running a mac studio m1 ultra

Just to check… Could you post here screenshots of the following panels :

  • Studio > Audio connections > Inputs
  • Studio > Studio Setup > Audio Sytem
  • Studio > Studio Setup > Audio Sytem > [Quantum 2626]/[MOTU M2]

Beside this, how are you testing the audio inputs of your system (new/already existing project, audio tracks and their routing, record-monitor settings…), and are you getting sound from MediaBay when previewing some .wav files in it ?

Testing with a new project……. All the settings (photos requested are correct) I’ll take some photos tomorrow plus test an older project
Although vst audio IS going out from an old project (not tried an old one with synth audio in yet)

Thanks

I’ve had trouble in the past getting audio in when the microphone was disabled in privacy settings (on a PC, which doesn’t have a microphone; the audio in was being blocked as well as the mic!).

Hello Barry,
Yes I checked that and it is enabled

Hey Cubic13

Tried to run an old project with audio in…… no sound output

Ran a project with vst synths, worked fine….
The interfaces both work as I tested them in Logic

Yep, as you suggested previouly, the issue is in the inputs. So, I’m asking again for the screenshots listed in my previous post.

Additionaly, and as you have the Pro version, could you check, in the Input channels section of the MixConsole, if there is any audio signal coming in, from either a mic or a line input ? A screenshot would also help, here, with a minimal project including audio tracks with their Input Routing set to your different hardware ones.

Thanks to everyone for chiming in here,
I have decided to wipe cubase off my machine and just use Logic

Yes sounds drastic but to me when I am in the creative way I need an app that just clicks open and works…… Far too many times since starting with cubase 7 years ago theres an issue that needs ages of tinkering and head scratching to fix by which time I canny be bothered making music any more on that given day

So
Into the trash it goes

Thanks again folks

I got the same problem with cubase 12.07. I transfert from pc to Mac Studio max m2.2023 Everything is set as I do usually.
My output is playing normally but there’s no inputs signal entering in my console inputs. I try with my Scarlett 18i20 and my boss gt-1000 core and they bot have output but no input. I tried with old project and create new one and its the same. I need help! I was going with Mac to fasten my process so far im stuck.

Cubase needs microphone permission in MacOS. Search the forums as there are tons of threads about this.
