Issue Notepad crashing cubase

Whenever another window (plugin, etc.) is on top of Notepad and Notepad is closed, Cubase crashes. All works fine as long as another window does not cover Notepad.

I don’t know why I’ve never noticed this before. Maybe because I try not to use Notepad as it’s pretty rubbish and needs an update.

What Cubase version exactly do you use, please?

Could you attach the *.ips/dmp file(s)?

  • Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).
  • Win: %userprofile%/Documents/Steinberg/Crash Dumps

I killed my pref, and that seems to have fixed it for now.

Hi @jimzepellin,

There’s a Free plugin called Snapshot 2 that adds pictures and write notes. Just posting in case you are interested. Only thing, it takes up an insert slot.

Also there are some YouTube Videos showing how it works!
