Sometimes i get a strange message when trying to open an cpr-file created with an older version of Cubase Pro - “This project was created with Cubas 13 and cannot be opened with this version”??? I thought the cpr-files are compatibel, at least between so near versions.
And sometimes there is a message “This file is damaged and cannot be opened” although it works well before upgrading from Cubase Pro 13 to Cubase Pro 14.
Hi,
usually, this should work between C13 and C14.
Out of the top of my head:
The cpr IS damaged - maybe try to open the last saved version before that cpr?
There are VST2s which cause trouble - have you checked the tiny VST2 box in Cubase 14 (Studio/PluginManager at the very bottom)?
Trying to open the last saved version before the “damaged” version doesn´t work either.
VST2 box in the PlugInManager is checked and all the VST2-Plugins work pretty good.
Did you already uninstall 13? I would reinstall if you did so you can confirm if these files still open in 13 or whether they actually have got damaged.
And just to be sure, 14 is updated to a recent version??
Now, the strange things are going on. The same problem between version Cubase Pro Version 14.0.40 and 14.0.10. A project built in 14.0.10 cannot be opened in 14.0.40. No VST2 Plugins are used in this project. Seems to be as i am not able to access my older projects? I´ll try to contact the Steinberg´s support, but i don´t expect to get any answer.
