Hi, yes, does not change things as long as there is anything still in the chain routed to 7.1 (FX sends or direct ouputs) even if 7.1 routing disabled then the stereo tracks will get rendered to 7.1.
To get stereo I have to remove anything routed to 7.1 then add those routings back in after rendering which is frustrating. Surely it should be straightforward to ‘render in place’ multiple stereo events to a single stereo audio event within a Dolby surround project without having to mess with the routing?
Just chiming in to say this has been slowing me down a few times too - seems to me that if I only channel settings are used, they resulting file should stay the same channel count as the source channel(s)?
Hi, unfortunately no, and selecting ‘channel settings’ in ‘render in place’ setup is the only way to get ‘mixdown to one audio file’ option anyway.
If '‘mixdown to one audio file’ is not ticked then a single stereo event succesfully renders in place to stereo but if ‘mixdown to one audio file’ is ticked and with multiple stereo track events selected the result is a surround file.
I hate to say it but it seems like a possible bug in the implementation of ‘mixdown to one audio file’ within surround projects?!
