Issue with Events Display on Folder Tracks - C15 Pro

Hi all. I’m facing the following issue on C15 Pro after the last update (.30):

the Event Display works with normal folders but doesn’t work with the folders with “Group channel”.

This is very inconvenient because I need to see the events when the folders are closed hence, despite I was happy for this new functionality, for me it’s useless not being able to see the events anymore

I tried several combinations but the result is always the same.

Furthermore, if I change che colour of the folder, all the tracks inside will take that colour also if they were coloured in different colours. Whatever I do, if I have the tracks with different colours then create a folder and drop the tracks inside all the tracks change colour to the folder’s one and I need to manually change the colours again.

Even more weird, if I reset the colour of a track to the standard colour - I use to keep the midi tracks grey - it change the colour of the inspector but not of the events

Anyone else that is experiencing the same issue with the last update? I need to find urgently a solution or will have to roll back to the previous version.

Thank you for your support

Hi,

I think almost all of these issues can be solved in your preferences.

Please open, Edit > Preferences > Event Display > Folders.

Here, you’ll find the settings you need to change in order to NOT automatically change the colour of tracks in a folder as well as always showing data on folder tracks.

Link to that part of the manual

If the colour of a MIDI part has been changed manually than this colour prevails over the track colour. Select all parts of the track and open the colour tool and pick the option at the very bottom which will default these parts colour once again. Now, these parts will take the tracks colour again.

hi Reco.

you showed the fix for the color change in a folder which was helpful.

but the main issue is that when i place any track with parts in it into a “New Folder with Group Channel” i will not see the content when the folder is closed, even when the preference selection is “Always show Data”. if placed in a normal folder, one can see the content in a closed state.

i need to see that there is something in the Folder with Group channel, otherwise it is visually confusing.

thanks

You have to uncheck" “Show Automation” to see the data in the folder:

Hi Reco29

thank you for your reply. I’ve been setting things in the preferences and thanks to your last point suggestion now fixed the issue of maintain the original colours of the tracks when dropped in the folder. At least this is solved. Thanks!

Hi Wolfger,

Thank you for your help, I fixed also this issue! I never setup the flag to show the automation but now it’s solved.

Hi @Antonello_Nicastro ,
glad it’s solved.

Please, have a look at the screenshot in my first post. Do you see the red exclamation mark? I deliberately put it left to the sentence that says you need to disable “Show Automation Data” if you want to see data in folder channels with group functionality…

All info was already there in plain sight…

Thank you!

thanks for the solution.
