Issue with flow format

Hi
I tried to make flows in a file that have a pick up and two measures per flow. In write mode it looks fine, but in engrave and print it adds a system that I don’t want. How can I make this extra system go away? Thanks for any suggestions

work on nct.dorico (536.4 KB)

It is because you have lots of hidden rests at the end …

Yes, but I delete them and it still does it. Plus those measures should not be there in the first place, I think.
How did you get it to show the rests?
Thanks for helping.
Ken

OK I found a way to show the rests, but I deleted the bars and it still does the extra system in print or engrave.
Thanks

Click the last note and uncheck the Ends Voice property.
If you delete the two signposts you can then select the last note and do Shift-B trim and enter
Make sure you show signposts.

OK I think you got it, but I was not able to get any response from shift B.
Thanks a lot, Giselle, for your help!

It’s probably simplest to use delete with the 4th insert mode (global adjustment of current bar).

Engage the insert mode, select the rests and hit delete.

Who is that? After deleting the signposts. Select the last note. Shift-B, write trim into the popover and press enter. It doesn’t work without deleting the signposts first.

Sorry, it was a total panic knee-jerk reaction!

Ha ha.

There is an old fashioned way, which I used in the very early days of Dorico: select something where you want the flow to end, then > Split Flow.
Afterwards you can delete the unnecessary flow.
