Issue with Iconica Sketch and HALion playback on Mac

Hello,

I am a new Dorico user, having recently switched from MuseScore. I am on a Mac and currently using the trial version of Dorico Pro 6.

I have installed all the necessary files for Dorico except for Olympus, Marching Drum, and Indian Drum. My problem is as follows: Dorico detects the presence of HALion, HALion Sonic Selection, Olympus, and GASE, but not Iconica Sketch.

Furthermore, even if I set aside the Iconica issue, Dorico does not seem to be using HALion correctly; it only plays back using basic, low-quality sounds. However, HALion is definitely activated in my Playback Templates.

Could anyone please help me resolve this?

Thank you very much,

Léo Pignol

done, thank you.

Thanks for the data.
Actually, Dorico does recognise Iconica Sketch as installed.
What you may not have noticed is, there is not separate VSTinstrument for Iconica to play the sounds. The Iconica sound will also get loaded into HALion Sonic and played back from there. Is this maybe what you get confused about?

And what if you go to Play Mode and choose from the menu Play > Playback Template, which templates get shown there in the list of templates? If there are only 1 or 2, click below on the Show all button. If you then select a template which uses Iconica Sketch and Apply and Close, does that then produce better sounds?

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to look into this. I have already followed your recommendations without success. The sound remains the default one.

Which templates turn up with you and which one did you choose?

Halion sonic selection, Olympus, Gase

That’s all that came up, no other templates, even if you pushed the Show all Factory button below the template list?
