Issue with info line "gain" being less responsive with Cubase 15 (MAC OS Tahoe)

Hi there,

I’m running into a strange issue in Cubase 15.

I usually adjust the gain of an audio event by clicking the gain field in the Info Line and dragging up or down. In Cubase 14 this was always very responsive, but in Cubase 15 the gain sometimes won’t change at all, even if I drag the mouse up several centimeters.

Only after I really moved a lot, it decides to change gain and be responsive again.

This behavior is new to Cubase 15, so it really feels like a bug.

Could you please take a look at this?

Thanks!

Mac OS Tahoe here.

Does it make a difference how fast you move the mouse?

Yes, when moving the mouse quickly it does work a bit better, but then you lose the precision.

Also, when I move fast, Cubase now adds random decimals after the integer.

For example: I go up from 0 db, it goes up to 3.53 dB, then if I drag down I suddenly see –4.35 dB, and if I drag up again it jumps to 2.67 dB. The decimals are all over the place.

Previously, if the original gain was 0 dB, moving up would increment cleanly (1 dB at a time: 1.00 dB, 3.00 dB, 5.00 dB, etc.). Now it behaves unpredictably with the decimals added, but only if I move “quickly” the mouse. If I move slow, it still increments by integer.. but then I have the “unresponsiveness” I’m talking about at the beginning of this post.

Yes, same issue here on Mac Sonoma. Methinks it’s a bug since this didn’t happen in any previous version.

Has anyone had a response from Steinberg Support on this or found a workaround? I logged it nearly 2 weeks ago but have heard nothing back yet…
