the issue is that I have long annotation Texts to each Flow, which I do not want to be appeared along with the Flows in my content page. Any change in contents cause automatic change in original flow.
Any Idea?
Could you make those annotations Flow tokens, like “Other Information” in the Project Info dialog; and then add them to each flow as part of the Flow Heading?
If these music frames are in a separate frame chain to where the music itself appears, which they almost certainly are, you can hide those text items just in this index frame chain, without hiding them in the default frame chain.
The. project it created in short exercises form, where I have multiple frame chains, and comments to each exercise.
Im following the instructions which You linked me, it still effecting the original flow. Maybe im doing smth wrong. Screenshots or any videos would be helpful, cause my mind is burning now from all the search and tries…
Dear Lillie, unortunately all explanation without pictures/screenshots/video confuses me even more. after many days of reading-trying-searching I still do not have any result… Would it be possible to make a video on this topic on Youtube? or at least explain using screenshots? at time for me 1 time seeing is much better than 100 times explanations…
Hi @Lara, for us too, it would be much easier to see your actual Dorico Project, if you could post it here. With a detailed explanation of what your final desired result should be. So we don’t need to guess, and someone could give you a step by step guide on how to obtain what you want. Thank you.
Hello dear Christian. This is a project with short exercises, which includws Text comments to each exercises. And By creatingCONTENTS page You can see that these long Text is comming along with the flows. In Properties You can see that I have checked Locally., but still any changes of the Text in CONTENTS is effecting on original flow. So i need the Text in Original flows, but NOT in Contents…
Thanks for coming to help me.
Hi @Lara, (I meant if you could post the Dorico File, instead of screenshots, but I reconstructed you example anyway ).
I tried the suggestion by @Lillie_Harris, but being the two frames in the same layout, even if in different frame chains, the Hide property will influence both places (did I miss something, @Lillie_Harris?. You could, instead of hiding the text in the Content page, select it and set the common Offset Y to 9999 (a very high number) so that the text will be var outside the page. But this is not very elegant.
I tried the suggestion by @benwiggy, and here you go: editing the Flow Heading with a text frame with the Other Infos token, an writing the needed text into the Project Info, for each flow. This its elegant, and as you create the content music frames directly on the layout (been them LA, LB etc…) they will not have a Flow Heading, and so also no title or text, as you wish.
I suggest to shrink the Margins for the music frames and for the Flow Headings.
Your screenshots do help me always!!! I Love when You come in chat! Now I have another issue: I have created 2 flow Headings Template: 1. For case when I need. 2. Case when I Dont need comments. I have found an option to Insert 1 Heading for the entire page. But I need to be flexible and use both of them for different flows within 1 page. Any idea?
In Dorico 5 is not possible to have different flow heading changes for different flows that appear on one page/music frame.
Your desired behaviour was already been requested and is on the radar of the developing Team for future improvement of this functionality.
oh!! That would be GREAT!!! I would wish to be able making changes (adding/removing Text in flows) in CONTENT Page LOCALLY as well, without affecting the original flow. That would simplify my workflow in some cases. THanks a Lot once again for Your time and Screenshots!!
