HI, I’m trying to use the Vertical Line (Brace Left) in some organ music to indicate the manual to be used. However, as soon as I add some text the brace breaks. Other vertical lines appear OK - see attached. Is this user error or is something misbehaving in Dorico?

I’ve played around trying various settings in Properties > Vertical Lines, and noticed that the brace breaks as shown in your example when Text position is set to Centered, but not when it is set to Left or Right.
If this is more or less what you want, the settings in Properties > Vertical lines are as seen in the screenshot, taken in Engrave mode. As with many things in Dorico, extra properties are available in Engrave mode, specifically those involved with changing the appearance.
I haven’t found a way to move the text (“R.”) vertically in small increments independently of the brace.
