I’m having an issue when creating audio montage duplicates.
Two folders with mixes, 48KHz in one and 44.1KHz in the other. File names are identical, exported mixes are identical except sample rate.
I setup the audio montage and do my master using the 48KHz files, but before I make my final exports I want to make a duplicate of this montage using my 44.1KHz mix files.
I open the 48k montage, choose "file > new > audio montage > from current file > customised duplicate> “duplicate with new audio files” and select the folder containing the 44k mix files as the new source.
I then get this error message: “The following file could not be matched. Do you want to create the Audio Montage anyway? Empty clips will be created in place of missing files.”
The file listed in this popup is always random, but if I try several times it complains about the same file each time. If I close Wavelab and open again and repeat the process, it complains about a different file.
If there aren’t that many songs in the montage, i can retry this process several times until I don’t get any errors and it all works, but on my last session there where 22 songs and I spent a considerable amount of time trying without success. There was always at least one file that wouldn’t work.
If I choose ignore it opens the new montage with one or more blank regions for the “missing clips” but I also discover that the markers are off, as if they haven’t been adjusted for the new sample rate.
My workaround at the moment is to render the montage so that there is only one clip for the whole album, then sample rate convert that one clip and do the same process as mentioned above. I have so far only done this work-around once, so not sure if I might still get the same error at some point.
