You’re right, we actually agree on many points.
If I understood your request correctly, your main focus is on giving the user more freedom and control over notation.
I completely agree that users should always be able to customize their own workflow.
The only difference is how I think we should get there.
Personally, I’d like to spend as little time as possible editing notation manually. Instead, I’d prefer a much more automated system that already understands the instrument and produces sensible results by default, while still allowing the user to override or customize every possible outcome if needed.
That was the main idea behind my Instrument Profiles proposal. Rather than adding more manual configuration options, I’d like to see Cubase use a shared instrument description to automate many of the existing workflows while keeping full user flexibility.
