Hi @taxus , the next time that happens to you , after having started Dorico anew, please go to Help > Create Diagnostic Report which will create a zip file on your Desktop. That one please post here in the forum under a new thread.
Hopefully it will contain one or more crash files of Dorico then.
Hi @Lindsey_Winston , how well can you reproduce your issue?
See, like a detective I have to reconstruct that what happens really on your computer in order to understand what is happening exactly on your machine and then try to fix it. So you see, I;m not playing stupid to keep you away from me. It’s just, I need as precise information from you as I can, so please bear with me.
When I load into Dorico, one of two things occurs.
-
First, it will say “Dorico cannot connect to the audio engine. The application will now quit.”, and simply shut Dorico down.
-
Or second, it will continue to the Dorico loading screen. Something I have noticed is that when loading, it pauses while loading the audio engine, longer than it use to. During this time, the mouse cursor spins. After the mouse cursor stops spinning, Dorico finishes loading in. In the activity monitor, the VSTaudioengine is active.
- From here, whether I start a new project or load an old one, the VSTaudioengine stays active. The problem is the playback engine. When I attempt to listen back, there is no sound. And looking at the mixer, it doesn’t appear that any signal is being sent through Dorico. At this point, the VSTaudioengine appears to still be active.
