Downloading now. I watched the videos on the new features and this is a no brainer for me. Great under the hood improvements and no flashy new stuff. Favourite at the moment is the drum editor improvements.
Thanks, but it’s all good. I just upgraded, set up my connections and opened the project - sounds exactly the same with the patches I had programmed. All the settings match the version 1 and the new functions, like EQ etc are just switched off.
Not only this, but believe it or not…MCU works this time!
They didn’t even manage to break the history window either!
Instead of normally taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back, IMO they only slid back 1/4 step…that being there are a TON of missing key commands due to the new WORKFLOW IMPROVEMENTS. I can live with that believing KC’s will eventually happen.
I knew mix undo wouldn’t happen yet.
They still have to tackle windows management and focus issues. The number of users with multiple monitors is growing so I don’t understand why the Racks Panel, that takes up over 1/3 of the project can’t be detached. Considering the space the inspector, track names, and racks panel takes up…I have about 12% space left to see my tracks.
But bottom line for me is that this is a excellent update. Drum editing. Key editing.
Thank you for giving me tools that enhance workflow that are core to Cubase instead of adding on stuff 3rd parties specialize in.
Indeed, seems pretty solid so far after throwing some sessions at it. It lays a good foundation for Cubase 9 - can’t wait to see what tricks they have up their sleeve for next winter.
