I've lost all sound from Dorico SE 5.1.7

I have lost all sound from Dorico SE 5.1.7 on my desktop computer. Sound was working after the upgrade, but has now gone. If I transfer the files to my laptop. also running ver 5.1.7 it all works fine. The audio of the desktop is working on all other programs.
I have rebooted numerous times to no avail. I’m guessing it’s OError, but can’t find where I’ve stuffed up. I have checked the mixer etc. The volume levels are flashing on playback, but there is zero sound.
All assistance is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum @rosslynda .

Please load a project into Dorico which should make sound and then do from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here. That will give me a first overview and then I can come up with more specific advice. Thanks

Dorico Diagnostics.zip (998.3 KB)

Hi @rosslynda , thanks for the data, but actually at first sight it looks fine to me, but let me reconfirm:
The last status is that audio is supposed to come out via the audio device LC32G7xT (NVIDIA High Definition)
Does that match your expectations? Can you please check in the Windows setting if that device is really enabled and that the volume is turn up for it?
You can right click on the little loudspeaker icon in your taskbar and then go to the sound settings.

Is the NVIDIA enabled there and volume pulled up?

Hi Ulf. The sound settings are for headphones Edifier (desktop speakers). If I change the sound settings to NVIDIA, I have nothing.
Where do I check that setting i
n Dorico?

Ah. I found it. It is in “Audio device setup”. I did open that page earlier when searching for something else. From memory, it showed the NVIDIA and I did not change anything there, but somehow I guess I did!
Thank you, you helped me find the problem and fix it.
I’m really enjoying Dorico and as a novice, learning a lot every day.
Your support is much appreciated.

You are welcome. Great to hear that it is solved
