I alreasdy posted this question on fb, but the response I’ve got from John doesn’t answer it.
Having created new expression maps for the JABB horns, I’m missing their mixers. Curiously those of the basses, also JABB and in a new expression map, do show. Their former Halion sonic mixers show greyed out when I click the ‘unused’ button. They sound all right in the score but I can’t manipulate the sound without mixer.
I read in the manual that I can add mixers, but these are for extra tasks and won’t show the missing instruments.
Thanks John, I’ve seen it and using it requires adaptations for the instruments in the score from other libraries. Then I can as well go on with creating my own template. Then I will have more control, be it that I’m still learning how to do it (with the tutorial series by Anthony). Though it is easier to use prefabs, I want to know how to work with Dorico.
Anyway, I don’t understand why the JABB basses show their mixer and the JABB horns not. For the basses I created (with your help) a new expression map and for the horns I copied one that I only gave another name.
Normally that would fit nicely into what I can handle , but I snipped only the ones that show and when I click ‘unused’ I get a lot of Halion mixers greyed out of which none respond to the instruments in the score when I play them.
I’m not sure that I really understand what the problem is, but I would suggest 2 things:
Make sure that you don’t just need to scroll the mixer to find the extra sliders for your instruments.
If you have more than one instrument in one ARIA vst, make sure it’s the “Multi” VST, in which you can set the audio output to different channels for different instruments. Otherwise, they will all be on one slider.
Thanks Ben and good evening,
I have indeed the Multi player VST. Bow do I set the audio channels correctly? As shown in the snippet I stil have no mixers and there is a loud burrr.
I’ve set 1/2 for the basses, 3/4 for trombone and flugelhorn and 5/6 for the altosaophone.
Here is the link to the document i’m working on. Isn’t there a manual for the Aria player? https://www.dropbox.com/t/YiNbPYnTorpifgxj

Please send us just the first two measures of your Dorico file attached to a message here. That would let us see your instrument setup and give you specific advice.
Good evening ben, have you seen the link to the sample piece?
Also, now I have all the mixers but the instruments do not respond to the slider nor to dynamics. When I have the Flh/As/Trb in one player they sound very soft and when in different players hey sound very loud. And yes, I have set the audio channels to resp. 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 as you suggested.
