I’ve just bought Groove Agent 5 and to me it doesn’t do anything better then the Groove Agent 5 SE that comes with Cubase.
Does anyone know of Jazz kits in Groove Agent 5 with brushes ?
I’ve had to use the GA1 GM brush kit to get anything near what i want.
Having all the kits and presets sounding the same but having daft names doesn’t help.
Are we supposed to sit there for days trying out everyone because of the preset names that mean nothing ?
Brushes definitely seem a rarity in GA stock kits.
There’s a GA 5 expansion: Simon Philips Jazz Drums, which has brushes and Jazz styles. I don’t have it, so can’t provide additional insight.
However I’ve found some brushes in my Cubase Media sidebar, which could be dragged onto a GA5 pad.
However, I ended up buying a 3rd party plugin called Borsta by Klevgrand, which I find a quite unique take on brushes.
Thanks for that.
I’ve contacted Steinberg to see if i can swap Groove Agent for the Simon Phillips Jazz drums. I don’t want 200 hip hop beats or 300 rock kits just a few decent kits for what seems minority kits.
I’ll have a look at the Borsta.
SM Jazz Drums is good. I have it. But FWIW, GA full has a number of great drum kits and they are all in 24bit. you can sort by style and find some jazz patters and mute out the instruments you don’t want. You can find the patter and swap out the kit for the vintage kit.
Thanks for your help.
I’ll have to take time to sot these out as there are so many
