Page 890 of the PDF Cubase 12 pro Operations manual (897 in the online manual) says that you just need to plug in a joystick, restart Cubase and it will control the pan.
I can’t get this to work in Cubase 12 Pro, I have tried several joysticks.
The joystick does not show under devices in Studio setup, but shows as a working USB joystick in Windows.
I tried removing the Cubase 12 files from roaming app data and restarted, but no luck.
Any ideas?
Hi, never tried something like that, but in the online manual I see that it’s referring to the vst multiPanner plugIn. Doesn’t work for you when using this plugIn?
OK, because initially I thought that maybe you’ve confused it somehow with “normal” panning.
Anyway, from what I read on the net, there are suggestions for making joystick to midi conversions with utilities such as this one Fergo JoystickMIDI - Fergonez, while in the manual is suggested that it will work out of the box. Weird.
I thought that it used to auto-detect and just work, but I may be remembering surround pieces I did in Cakewalk.
I hope Cubase hasn’t removed this functionality. It is the easiest way to pan in surround sound…
I found a work around.
I used midi xy-pad for the ipad. Its a free app.
I connected via Rtp-midi.
I mapped left-right and Font-rear pans to each axes and I can now control the multipanner.
