Use shortcut F8 (if you don´t use video much) for Control room mixer. Look at loudness meter, short term when using plugins like compressors etc. Ensure that db is the same. Most plugin raise volume. Do this as a habit.
F8 and the new Control Room is great! You dont have to open the mixer all the time this way.
