I apologize in advance to all the fan boys who will inevitably hyperventilate.
I’m a PC guy, so I’m unable to use Logic, but I always like trying new DAWs to see what they have/don’t have vs Cubase. After trying Logic at a friends house tonight, I found it’s got a lot of pro’s and definitely some cons.
Their “lower zone” tabs differed a bit. They had step sequencer tab and a drummer tab. Opening Superior drummer, I was able to use the step sequencer and make a simple beat to play along to in a minute.
Can the new version of Cubase please stop with all of the extra clicks and windows? Can we just put beat designer and groove agent in the lower zone, already? Can we update groove agent so it doesn’t look like an MS-DOS?
When editing a sound, can we have pitch, filter, etc. on the same page, instead of having to click them individually? And can we have a step sequencer to edit drums, in case we can’t stand the 30 year old diamond grid? (No, that doesn’t mean get rid of it, it’s just another, more efficient way of editing drums quickly)
Obviously there’s a few other things I like: Ease of use, no unnecessary clicks, well laid out, etc. Ultimately, I still like Cubase, but I really do feel like they’re behind in a lot of important areas.
