Kaspersky and Cubase

Somewhere, way back when, I was told that if I want to run Cubase, I must not run anti virus software. This means that my music computer almost never goes online.

Is it true that I can’t run anti virus software?

I have some VST plugins that require an online iLok activation. There’s no way I’m going to let my computer online without protection so I’m wondering if this really is true?

Can anybody let me know?

Well, I run Cubase (see my signature info) and Kaspersky internet security (version 17.0.0.611). No problem here. You can also add Cubase and other software like ilok (and any folders) to a white list on Kaspersky.
