Dear everyone,
I have a score with Soprano, Bass, and Piano. I want the vocal staves to have no staff labels, while the piano continues to display the staff label “Accomp.”. When I clear only the Soprano label in Setup mode, I get the first result shown below. But after clearing the Bass label as well, Dorico changes the labeling unexpectedly (second image).
Is there a way to hide the Soprano and Bass staff labels while keeping only the “Accomp.” label?
Hi @ProfS, once you use the same name for soprano an bass (no name in your case) Dorico numbers them automatically as if they where the same instrument that appears twice (an unnamed instrument), that’s why you see the numbers.
(One method to avoid automatic numbering of instruments is to put each of their players into a group in Setup mode, or in this case case is enough to put one of them into a group).
Instead of renaming the instruments, you can rename the players (right click on the player in Setup mode and choose Rename Player…):
