I figured out a way to save my project at the cost of 1 plugin
Step 1
Firstly - when you load the project, watch and observe what plugin it crashes on. That’s the plugin that’s causing the problem (unless there are multiple)
Step 2
-
Disable all plugins Disabling Third-Party Plug-ins
-
Once open, remove the corrupt plugin
-
Save under new name
-
Quit Cubase
-
Open Cubase as normal and it runs perfectly (unless more plugins are at fault)
How do I recover the lost plugin ( You can’t but here’s 2 work arounds)
Option 1
-
Find the latest .bak file from your project folder /or one that works closest to the time of your project
-
Open it (Double Click)
-
Solo plugin
-
Export audio
-
Import audio into fixed session
Option 2
-
Find the latest .bak file from your project folder /or one that works closest to the time of your project
-
Open it (Double Click)
-
Save Plugin info as a preset
-
Export Midi File
-
Close .bak session
-
Open fixed session
-
Create new VST instrument
-
Choose the preset you created from backup session
-
Import Midi file you saved from .bak session
This helped save my project.
Hope this helps
