Kernelbase.dll crashing Cubase FIX (work around)

I figured out a way to save my project at the cost of 1 plugin

Step 1

Firstly - when you load the project, watch and observe what plugin it crashes on. That’s the plugin that’s causing the problem (unless there are multiple)

Step 2

  1. Disable all plugins Disabling Third-Party Plug-ins

  2. Once open, remove the corrupt plugin

  3. Save under new name

  4. Quit Cubase

  5. Open Cubase as normal and it runs perfectly (unless more plugins are at fault)

How do I recover the lost plugin ( You can’t but here’s 2 work arounds)

Option 1

  1. Find the latest .bak file from your project folder /or one that works closest to the time of your project

  2. Open it (Double Click)

  3. Solo plugin

  4. Export audio

  5. Import audio into fixed session

Option 2

  1. Find the latest .bak file from your project folder /or one that works closest to the time of your project

  2. Open it (Double Click)

  3. Save Plugin info as a preset

  4. Export Midi File

  5. Close .bak session

  6. Open fixed session

  7. Create new VST instrument

  8. Choose the preset you created from backup session

  9. Import Midi file you saved from .bak session

This helped save my project.

Hope this helps
