Key command for changing the note spacing?

Hello,
if this feature already exist, I’ll apologise.
I would like to suggest the possibility of having a key command to change the note spacing value.
Something like xyz-right arrow and xyz left-arrow. The key command should be able to somehow connect to the little up- or down arrows, where one can set the note spacing value.
Example: trying to change the note spacing from 4 down to 3 5/8 at the moment requires mouse action - and confirmation with “Ok”.
If this somehow could be put onto another level, avoiding the mouse, it would save a lot of users a lot of time I guess.
If one can dream, if even a life preview would be possible (avoiding the step of “applying” a new value), one could instantly see, how the changes affect the layout.

Not really an answer to your request, but in case you don’t know: you can use the usual increase-decrease commands in this field, without the mouse (and curiously, Alt/Opt is optional)

Ctrl+Shift+(Alt+)Arrow = 1/32
(Alt+)Arrow = 1/8
Shift+(Alt+)Arrow = 1/2
Ctrl+(Alt+)Arrow = 1

So for this case: down arrow 3 times.

Ok., thank you, I did not know this (and had experimented with the left/right arrows..).
Best thing is that it offers a more granular adjustment (by 1/32).
Still there is a preface of calling the Note Spacing dialogue, flipping a switch, selecting a button, selecting the field itself - which obviously can’t be avoided (as how to tell Dorico, which values one plans to adjust..).
After this one can use the key commands for the adjustment and apply it to the layout with “Ok”.

That’s a splendid idea. I’ll just share my workaround in case you find it useful.

  1. Create a note spacing change (I have a macro for invoking it and activating the correct field for my purposes)
  2. Press arrow up or down to change.
  3. Enter.

Now, see the result, pan around as you like. Just make sure you don’t click anything to keep the note spacing sign post active.

To change again, hit enter, hit tab a few times (three IIRC), arrow up/down to change. Enter to apply.

Repeat until you are satisfied, no mousing necessary.
