To all the experts out here… Is there a Key Command to switch between tracks? What I am trying to do is to switch between tracks using “Steinberg CMC-PD controller” pads… E.g. press PAD1 and that should select Track 1, and so on… Is this possible? Any inputs would be highly appreciated!
You can use the CMC-PD as classical MIDI controller for this. Then, you can set the Generic Remote in the Device Setup.
Lower sheet, you will set the input, i.e. the MIDI message (MIDI note), which is send from the CMC-PD. In the lower sheet, you will set, what to do.
Name the “Track 1” in the bottom sheet, the first command, for example. In the lower sheet, on the “Track 1” row, you will set:
Device – VST Mixer
Channel – Audio 01
Action – Selected
On the 2nd row, you will set
Device – VST Mixer
Channel – Audio XY
Action – Selected
THis way, you can assign to selecting any track to any PAD of CMC-PD.
