Greetings, for some reason my key commands have disappeared after the update. When I try to load the preset in the key command window, there doesn’t seem to be a way to ‘import preset’ or ‘save preset’. So just selecting the desired preset doesn’t seem to save/activate it. What am I missing? TIA
Hi,
If you have previous Cubase available, you can move the Key Commands.xml file from the old preferences folder, to the new one (once Cubase doesn’t run).
Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X_64
Where the X is the Cubase version (for example 13).
Yes… I’ve done that and the preset is showing up. when I select it, however, it doesn’t ‘stay’ and reverts back to ‘no preset’. I don’t see a ‘save’ button for the change of preset. My custom presets are there, but are not working/activated. Help!
Hi,
The preset name doesn’t appear (this is a known issue), but the commands suppose to be available.
Yes… the preset names appear and the commands are there, but I get an error message that says they aren’t available.
Hi,
Do you have the On screen keyboard in MediaBay enabled by any chance?
No idea… where is that?
Hi,
Open MediaBay (F5) or MediaBay Rack (Project window > Right Zone > Media). Make sure if there is no Plug-in preset selected, so make sure, you don’t see the (virtual) on-screen keyboard.
See attached screenshot, please. The area, I marked in orange, is the keyboard. If you can see this, select an Audio loop in MediaBay (Rack).
Yes I see it… now what?
Hi,
As I wrote already:
Yes I did that… now what? What does this have to do with the kay commands not being activated/available? Sorry… I’m confused
Hi,
The computer keyboard presses were blocked by this virtual keyboard. Once you change close the view of this virtual keyboard, the Key Commands should work again.
Make sure, the same view is not enabled in the MediaBay or MediaBay Rack (the other one, you inspected already).
So to be clear… I SHOULD NOT be seeing the virtual keyboard… and how to get rid of the keyboard view?
Hi,
Correct.
