Key Editor not - in focus - when opened

When i dubbelclick a MIDIblock in the arranger window, the key editor opens on another screen. But, the key editor is not yet automatically selected.

So, for example the key editor opens, and i need to adjust the zoom, i immediately press G but now the zoom of the arranger window gets messed up.

How can i get an activated key editor the moment i open it by clicking on a block?

It is very counter intuitive when you open a new window you need to click on it first

it seems like a minor problem, and it is… but we are all about workflow improvement.

This doesn’t happen to me on a single screen setup.
Hopefully people with a multi-screen setup can have a look.

I just tried it (Win 10, Cubase pro 15.0.21) and can’t confirm the problem: Double-clicking a MIDI part in the Arranger window opens the Key Editor on my second monitor and it has focus. All keyboard commands are immediately reflected in the Key Editor.

that’s so weird… the only difference we have is, i use W11. But that can’t be it.

I’ve been editing MIDI Parts all week and it always puts the focus on them when opening. Latest versions of Windows & Cubase along with 4 monitors.

Same here as raino and Johnny. I’m Windows 10 but use 4 displays. No matter where I place the Key Editor to open, it always retains focus when opening.

Did you try checking this with Safe Mode and disable user preferences?
