Merge Tempo From Tapping helps me achieve a quick mapping of the Tempo to the MIDI part I’ve recorded. It would be more helpful though to be able to quantize vertical lines to notes by selecting the note and hitting a keyboard shortcut (or whatever) to bring the closest bar to the note.
There are usually several ways to do any given thing. Try the Time Warp/Warp Grid tool.
