Keyboard arrows dont navigate buttons in dialog

hi
in cubase 13, when I go to close a project, I get the “do you want to save yes/no” dialog. In cubase 12 I used to be able to hit my right arrow and be done… In cubase 13 the arrows have no effect, I can only select it with my mouse, glitch or preference, anyone know?

Hi,

This is a known and already reported issue.

ok Martin
thanks for the update…

First time I reported these Bugs on Nov. 2023:
Close + W or + F4
Cursor Default Position is save.
In Cubase 12 and earlier or Right/left arrow could be used to select Don’t save or Cancel.
Now the mouse must be used to select the correct Option.
I use this shortcuts in Cubase since Cubase 1. in the 90s and in all other Windows Applications without any Problems until Cubase 13 arrived.

support id #589699 from Nov. 11 2023, one bug was fixed but most of the shortcut bugs still exist, but marked as solved
support id b#617860 from March 23 2024 promised to be fixed in 13.0.40 and marked as solved
Cubase 13.0.50 arrived and the Bugs are not solved, so I open a new a new ticked (support id #661349) on November 16. 2024
Ticket still open without an answer.

Now we are on Cubase 14 and these Bugs still exist.

Windows 11, I5 13600k
Cubase 13.0.50
Cubase 14.0.5 Trial

This problem is still here in 14.0.10!

Here’s a workaround-

Type the first letter of the button name.

On Mac it seems you have to add the Cmd-key to get that to work. It’s not a very obvious solution IMO, but it’s a workaround when you know about it.

But the crazy part is that if you tab to Don’t save and hit enter, the project will be saved, potentially ruining your project. Tabbing through dialog boxes is such a vital part of all other computer programs. Why did Steinberg abandon this in Cubase? I don’t understand it. It is such a basic and vital part of the workflow for working with computers, especially for disabled people. Have anyone at Steinberg ever acknowledged that this is broken and has been for ages?

Yes, they have

That’s shameful, if confirmed - which thankfully after a quick test reading your post, I can’t here on Windows… C13 or C14 latest.

Whatever, I’d suggest starting a new topic of its own for this - and (maybe) Mac only…?!

Yes, I’m with you… sadly a big workflow killer throughout the program, for many years now… they’ve seemed to just abandon tabbing completely…
