I’ve used Keyboard Maestro (KM) to making ‘exploding’ music more useful. Programming hotkeys to choose the Edit - Filter - Deselect Only menu item and after that KM choose Edit - Filter - Notes in Chords - Top Note or Single Notes etc. The software (KM) is very usefull to program this sort of workflows.
