Hello,
Can I use my computer keyboard to play the on-screen keys in the Keyboard panel?
You can input notes using A-G to specify the pitch…but I suspect that’s not quite what you’re asking about.
Right – I don’t think there’s any way to directly “play” that from your computer keyboard. But I was guessing that the point of playing it would be to input pitches, which you can do from your computer keyboard.
One thing I do miss from Finale is the way that you could use your computer keyboard as a 3-octave keyboard for entering pitches in Speedy. In Dorico, I remapped my Z-M keys along the bottom row to be a single octave, and with Dorico’s automatic selection of the nearest matching pitch and a couple of custom key commands for changing octaves, I find it almost as fast as Finale.
I seldom use {the key commands for changing octave level} of a note I have just entered.
Instead I use the two key commands that force the next note to be higher/lower than the previous note - even if this pitch is not the nearest matchng pitch (= when the melodic interval is a fifth or more).
Yes, same here.
