Hi! I plan to buy a keyboard for my iPad just to be used as a shortcut for Cubasis UNDO command but need a really compact, mini one that I can just put it on Launchkey 61 Mk4 right near the Launchkey’s transport buttons. Do such keyboards with only keys for specific shortcuts (CMD + Z) for UNDO exist for example? Like one shown on this picture:
The pads on the Launch Key Mk4’s can be programmed (Using Components) to send keyboard shortcuts Like CMD+Z so that could be an option to look into?
Hi Samuel and thanks a lot for this info! I didn’t know this is possible, that’s awesome. I just ordered new Launchkey 61 Mk4 but didn’t receive it yet so I am totally new to this controller so will of course check manual for it as soon as it arrives but please just let me know if it’s possible to use for example pads 1-15 for triggering drum plugin samples in Cubasis track and at the same time use pad 16 (a pad in the same bank as the drum triggering pads 1-15) for UNDO to send keyboard shortcut CMD+Z. If yes, will also Mackie HUI automatic mappings work too at the same time, especially all the transport buttons on Launchkey mk4 to send commands to Cubasis transport? Thanks!
That is definitely possible as You define each pad individually. So 15 pads for ‘midi-notes’ and one pad for the cmd+z key-stroke. (The manual is quite well written so it’s worth to skim thru it before the device arrives).
Personally as I don’t have a sustain-pedal connected at all times I’ve programmed two pads to do either latched CC64 and momentary CC64 so I can ‘play’ the sustain-pedal using the pads.
For the time being You will need a computer to program the the Mk4 as WebMidi which the Components software uses is a hit or miss on the iPad…
Hi @gorgorsan
Thanks for your message.
And big thanks to @Samuel_Lindeman for providing this handy workaround!
We will check the options to add this to MIDI Learn in a future update.
Best,
Lars
Hi Samuel, that’s great! Thanks a lot again for the info! Best Regards
Hi, Lars! Thanks a lot for an answer and for considering adding the UNDO to MIDI Learn in a future update ; ) Best Regards
