Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK2 Custom Script

That worked!

And yes, it seems to be a bug within Cubase 12.0.70

  1. track “one” with 1 loaded and activated insert plugin (De-Esser) (Page:”Inserts Slots”)

  1. Track “one” with no loaded send plugin (Page: “Sends Slots”)

  1. Track “two” with no loaded send plugin (Page: “Sends Slots”)

  1. track “two” with no loaded insert plugin (Page:”Inserts Slots”)
= but still shows Insert Plugin of track “one” (De-Esser); in Cubase and on the KK Keyboard.

  1. track “two” with no loaded insert plugin (Page:”Inserts Slots”) after re-selecting channel “two” = that’s how it should look like.

Ok, so while I´m on Cubase 12, I guess I have to deal with this….

btw.: If you hover over the buttons with the mouse, Cubase seems to refresh it’s graphics and change from “one” to “two” and then you can control channel “two”, strange behavior that I will not investigate further..

Just to be clear, I see you changing the track in the project window. Do you have Editing→Project & MixConsole→Sync Selection in Project and MixConsole activated? If not, you have to, since the “selected track” object in MIDI Remote is not the one in the Project Window but rather the one in the MixConsole.

Yes, activated and synced and even if I change the track in the MixConsole, it’s the same result

OK. When I find some time, I’ll download CB12 and give it a try. However I don’t recall this behaviour even in CB12. I’ll see…

I don’t understand what that means. Hover over which buttons?

sorry, i meant over some of the parameters and maybe can not explain it good enough…

just wanted to share this behaviour, but please do not expend any further effort, you helped a lot, i can deal with this and maybe after an update or fresh re-install it will work for me, just like in your case! thanks again!

Sure, but I can’t. If I can reproduce this on CB12 and I find a way dealing with it from inside the script, will let you know

I’m curious to know something. I read somewhere that this script could also help with VEP on a slave computer. My problem is that I have 2 Kontrol keyboards … an S88 Mk2 and an S49 Mk3. I can’t use both on the one computer controlling Komplete Kontrol. So, I wanted to use one on the slave computer running Vienna Ensemble Pro. But the problem is that it’ll work on the 1st channel, but I can’t get the keyboard’s focus to move to other channels. And I read somewhere that your script might help with this. Is that possible?

Hi, sorry, I don’t have an MK3 here in order to check how MK2 and MK3 behave together.

Not sure I understand this. How is VEP used in your slave PC? As a standalone? And if so, what do you aim to do with channel changing? I don’t have VEP, so I don’t really know what exactly your aims are here…

Thanks for the swift response. You’ve sort of answered my question. Clearly your scripting had nothing to do with Vienna Ensemble Pro. So, that’s my error.

I use VEPro on multiple slave computers, which link to my main DAW Mac via the LAN. It’s a great way of off-loading processor and memory load from the DAW machine. Sadly though, the linkage doesn’t pass NKS machine control. So, if you’re running plugins in Komplete Kontrol inside VEPro, a MK2 or Mk3 Kontrol keyboard can’t do more than simple MIDI control. My thought was to use my 2nd Kontrol keyboard con extend directly to a slave computer. That way, it does pass NKS control to an instrument loaded in the first Instance in VEPro, but while I can switch Instances, the actual control doesn’t follow the switch.

It’s complicated and messy, and will probably never have a solution. Which is a shame, because. If they could make this work, it’d be an amazingly functional and clever system.
