Kontakt 7 player too loud

Hi,

I am using Kontakt 7 player for midi projects. Many of my instruments are extremely loud (like maximum velocity) when I first play a track. This only happens on the first midi note, the rest of the track is normal.

More seriously, when I freeze a track or mixdown the project, the same extreme volume occurs - but likewise, only on the very first note in the track.

I am using Cubase Elements 12 (windows 11)

I am stumped - any thoughts? :thinking:

Hi,

Does it happen on the very 1st MIDI Note, you playback, or does it always happen on the very 1st Note of the project only?

So if you start the playback at bar 10, is the 1st Note of Bar 10 loud, or is it correct?

Do you start your MIDI Parts at the very beginning 1.1.1.0, or do you keep some free space at the beginning?

I have emtpy bars at the beginning of the project

For arguments sake lets say my first midi event is in bar 4. When first open the project, WHEREVER I start the playback (bar 4 OR bar 10) … the first midi event is extremely loud

Do you use any heavy Compressor/Limiter?

Hi Martin,

After testing kontakt with a fresh project the problem is resolved - it seems I had changed a setting in kontakt that was causing the problem. Many thanks for your input. :grinning:

i have this same issue with Addictive Drums
it happens the first time after the project is openeded only, if i stop and play again the note is played correctly

i have recorded the audio output to illustrate the problem
please take a look at my post
