I installed Kontakt 5 on my Macbook Air and it’s not showing in Dorico 5 (in the Play tab where you assign the vsti). I haven’t installed all the Halion libraries yet, but don’t see why that would stop Kontakt from showing.
If you’re running an Apple silicon-powered Mac, Kontakt 5 is too old to be compatible with the new ARM processor in your Mac. You will need to run Dorico under Rosetta in order to use older plug-ins.
It’s an older computer, and has a Intel 1.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 processor. Should Kontakt work on it?
Ok, I installed some Halion stuff and it seemed to refresh something so Kontakt is showing up. I have to say that the process of adding Konkakt is very confusing.
Yes, should do. So please choose from the Dorico menu Help > Create Diagnostics Report and post the corresponding zip file here. Thanks
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (254.1 KB)
Here it is.
I see that the Native Instruments instance for Konkakt 5 shows “Native Instruments GmbH”. Not sure what that means or if it’ll be an issue.
Thanks I can’t look at it at the moment but will do so asap, a little patience please.
Hi and sorry for coming back so late.
Thanks for the data and also in there I can see that not only Kontakt 5 but also Kontakt 7 (VST3 version) does get recognized.
So my question is, do you still have a problem that needs to get addressed?
Btw, “Native Instruments GmbH” simply just translates to “Native Instruments Ltd”.
Thanks Ulf. Sorry for my late reply too. I accidentally installed Kontakt 7 so I’ll remove it.
I’m good to go now. Thanks for the help.
