KORG microKEY MIDI Keyboard does not play sounds

I have the MIDI keyboard connected, Cubase knows about it, MIDI monitor indicator indicates it receives notes from the MIDI keyboard, I have selected my keyboard as the MIDI input for the VSTi plugin, yet it does not play any sound from any VSTi plugin inside the Cubase C14, BUT it plays without nay problem inside the FL Studio.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO MAKE IT WORK INSIDE THE CUBASE C14 PRO?

Hi,

Can you see meters on the track? Can you see any indicators of the incoming MIDI data (virtual keyboard movement; any LED indicator)?

Could you attach a screenshot of the Routing setup of the track?

Sir, did you actually read my post at all? Cos most of your questions are already there, anyway:

What meters on the track?

Yes, I can see indicators of the incoming MIDI data (virtual keyboard movement; any LED indicator)?

What exact Routing setup of the track?

Hi,

Yes, I read your message. And as I know Cubase well, I know the metres on the Instrument track are not indicating MIDI, but Audio Return of the Instrument Track. So the question remains: do you see the tracks’s meter? If yes, the issue is on the routing from the track to the output. If not, the problem is on MIDI side.

MIDI Input Port, MIDI Input Channel; Audio Return Output, any further audio routing.

Sorry, but you are so unspecific…what is it IF I SEE TRACK METERS??? Really, like canb you at least tell what exactly do you mean:

  • if I see them at all (that is drawn in the DAW)? OF COURSE, I DO
  • if I see am INDICATING ANY AUDIO ON THE VSTi TRACK? IF PLAY BY THE MIDI KEYBOARD NO, IF I PLAY MY PROJECT YES, IT OF COURSE PRODUCING SOUND

I hope this is what you meant by “screenshot of the MIDI routing”

Hi,

I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware, you don’t know the basic Cubase terminology. These are the meters:

As I can see from your screenshot, the Output Channel is set to Any. That means it is using multi-timbral. Therefore, ensure that the MIDI Input Channel matches the Channel you want to use in the Instrument.

Btw, the Record or Monitor button is not enabled on the Instrument Track. So you don’t send the MIDI data from the Input to the Instrument.

On one hand thank you for pointing me to the problem/solution…on the other hand, gee, the VERY FIRST THING YOU SHOULD SAY after what I already wrote in my question was simple: YOU HAVE TO HAVE MONITOR option for the instrument track enabled - THAT’S ALL!!!

Jesus Christ, such a simple answer and you had to lead me thru unnecessary steps, unbelievable…

SO FOR ANY OTHER PPL LOOKING FOR THE SOLUTION:

IF ALL THE NECESITIES ARE MET(see my initial post/question) THEN ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JUST ENABLE MONITOR OPTION FOR THE VSTi TRACK!!!

Hi,

As I know Cubase well, I know, there might be another reason… Therefore, I asked you to get more details from your side.

This is a user forum. @Martin.Jirsak is a user here just like everybody else. People generally try to be helpful but no-one is obliged to do so.

Keep up with that attitude and you’ll get ignored in future.

Yet, you could not solve the problem for yourself. Your attitude is unbelievable.
