Hiya Guys….1st time on here
Having problems With my Kronos talking to Cubase 14pro, although the Midi Activity suggests its recieving signals. I have this problem with the Arturia Keylab Essential Mk3(Exactly the same). It won’t play Hal sounds in a Instrument track and it isnt recording any Midi.
I have checked Windows devices, installed the driver for Kronos and the Kronos is visable in Cubase.
I don’t have any scripts at all. The kronos plays Vst’s in windows outside of of Cubase.
I would Appreiate any thoughts on what i’m doing so wrong, I have been pulling my hair out
. I have searched the forum for similar posts and I found one but it didn’t help.
Many thx Dsve
Is the MidiView app opening the ports? The version of MIDI in currently shipping Windows only supports one app using a port at a time. I haven’t used MidiView, but I assume if using it, all MIDI data will come in on that source?
Also, I don’t recommend using DirectMusic unless you really need it for something specific. (Not sure if MidiView requires it).

Hiya Pete…..thx for your reply….
I have Uninstalled the Midiview, but to no avail. Istalled this to check the kronos which did’ nt seem to work as I expected.
I do have System Clock message’s continuously running when I monitor the input of the Kronos Midi in. I also get “Zero note Length” in red when I play a note on the Kronos. I dont know how to disable the System Clock messages.
I have also read a post by Rishano that has similar problems to mine. I have the orange loudspesker button selected(Monitor). I also have “instruments use automation Read all/Write All” selected in Vst menu in Preferences, as these were suggested options to look at.
I can only thinjk of uninstalling the Korg Driver and may be reinstalling Cubase 13/14pro/15pro.
As a Final thought, the Kronos works fine in Ableton Live Standard. I can play Vst’s and record midi.
Any thoughts appreiated, many thx
Dave
Ok, that’s a good note. So it’s not an operating system problem, then.
I’m not a Cubase expert, so maybe others here will have suggestions for you.

Hiya guys….I post this for completeness and in case someone else is struggling with this.
I found a post that I had seen before on the forum, I paste below an extract that solved my problem

Did you try deleting your user settings?
Try moving this whole folder somewhere safe (desktop e.g.):
C:\Users[YourUserName]\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase 14_64
If you have folders from previous versions of Cubase, move those too.
You have to do this when Cubase is not running.
This actually worked, even tho I had uninstalled 3 versions of cubase and reinstalled 14 Pro, deleting user settings actually made cubase 14 start as if it was for the first time.
Many thx to all
Dave
