This has happened once before In Nuendo 12. I usually just switch to Cubase 12 but I wanted to find out the reason why and fix it if possible. Yesterday when I went to load another instrument, instead of the instrument name I got an unreadable mush: “%$#*&@@>!”. what?? Previously when this happened it was on my plugins as well as instruments. This time it was only VSTi’s. I could see them but loading them resulted in the rant-like mush. Everything else worked fine. Since this happened before I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Nuendo 12 so I can’t understand why this weirdness has come back. No such issues in Cubase 12.

Are you on Mac or Windows, please? Could you attach a screenshot?
I would try to reinstall Nuendo. If this doesn’t help, I would try to Disable Nuendo Preferences from the Safe Start Dialog or even delete/rename all preferences.

Hi Martin. I’m running Mac Ventura 13.5.1 on a Macbook M1 Pro.
I’ll try to get one. I should have taken one when it happened but as is typical in situations like that I was more concerned with getting back to what I was working on.
