Landr release time

Hi everyone,
this is not a classic Steinberg topic but I try…
I’m trying to release my first song as an indipendent producer using Landr; my plan states that songs will be released to platforms in two days but in my case I’ve been waiting four…
Anyone having a similar experience?
Thanx,
Art

You might have to be a little more patient. There are around 40,000 new songs being uploaded per day to Spotify alone. It could just be a backlog. There could be a detail in the metadata missing that you sent; it is your first release. Getting in touch with Landr after a week maybe. I wouldn’t wait for them call you.

Hi @Albert_MacDonald,
I can absolutely understand they have a lot of songs to upload - and mine is just one among ‘billions’ - but they know even better than me, so my objection is that they shouldn’t ‘offer’ (payed offer) what they can’t guarantee, that’s it…
It looks like I’m not the only one having this kind of complaint (I’ve found others on Reddit Landr page but I don’t know if I can link it here); same goes for support answer, unless you consider an answer an automatic one :man_shrugging:
Thank you for answering!

Your welcome arfo. I’ve been doing this for forty years so I’ve come up against so many issues that I can’t keep track. This hasn’t anything to do with Landr specifically; this is life in general. Notice I didn’t say that I’ve come up against ‘every’ issue. That’s because I have yet to do a project where I haven’t had a new issue that I’d never had before. So I don’t consider this a problem; it’s just the way business works; and the more hands it has to pass through, the more chances that someone is going to drop it. This is especially frustrating when they ‘promise’ you a delivery date. Back in ‘the day’ when everything was physical product, I had a sign on my wall that read “Don’t make plans till it’s in your hands”. People would be saying that they needed their product because they already booked a CD release party. I refused to be held responsible for their reckless planning.
The point here is that when you connect with the people at Landr, they promise you what they consider their ‘tried and true’ method; but sometimes it doesn’t work through no fault of the person you initially contacted. But I get it and it sucks.
Your last point is a real thorn in my side. Waiting for an answer. And NO, an automated response is not an answer…and a redirection to an FAQ page is almost rude and certainly dismissive. When I look for an answer to a problem, of course I’ve already tried their FAQ page. The most useless documentation on the planet. These companies, instead of directing you to the FAQ page, should take the time to read the concern and then make the choice. But that’s just my beef.

Hi Albert,
thank you very much for taking the time to read and write, very appreciated!

I probably took what stated in Landr plans offers too literally but this was my first completely independent publication; even if I appear in several recordings on Spotify (not always credited, but this could be a separate topic on its own) there was always a publisher or a collaborator to manage them and maybe this made me a bit too anxious…

I’ll definitely agree with this and I’ll take a note

This is maybe the really annoying part, actually; I also had a case in which two operators gave me opposite answers and this is very confusing for a newby client…
I surely take more time in the future to avoid this kind of problems as much as possible, especially if planning to release in a specific date

Thank you again and all best wishes for your musical activity!
