Hi. I am running cubase 8 pro (now using 8.5 trial but same problem occurs in both), with Groove Agent SE4 through an Asus Laptop, certainly not overused. Not top spec but certainly I thought enough… Intel(R) Core™ i3-3217U CPU@1.80Hz, 6gb RAM, 64 bit operating system, Virus checked etc… Anyway Cubase works pretty well on it until I start adding midi drums (through Groove AgentSE4), then everything starts crackling and cutting out (during recording and playback).
Could I be pushing my computer too hard, or are there settings I can change to combat this?
Is Groove Agent overloading my PC?
Any help or advise would be really appreciated as it is making my work impossible.
I am relatively new to cubase and am not a computer wiz, very frustrating because I have some wonderful music in my head.

P.S. Forgot to say, I am running through a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 interface.
