Laptop or separate keyboard?

Hi!

I have some questions:

  • is Dorico laptop first or computer keyboard first? As in: do I miss something if I’m only using my laptop and no separate keyboard? I feel Cubase f.i. is easier to handle if I use a separate keyboard.
  • in Ardour (which I also use frequently) I can reach every single function with a key command. Is that also true for Dorico? As in: Can I completely rely on my laptop without having to use the mouse? Especially when I’m on the road?

Hi @mzungu

Dorico was designed to be used comfortably using a standard laptop keyboard, without the need for a numpad. If you’ve only got a laptop keyboard, use the trial to test how this feels for yourself though!

Dorico is heavily key command driven. Some things require the mouse, but the majority of functions either have built-in key commands, or can have your own key commands assigned to them (in Preferences > Key Commands).
