Check the “Constrain delay Compensation” switch. Maybe it’s on?
You mean you experience a large latency when playing a software instrument via a MIDI keyboard? That is most likely because one (or more) plugin with high latency is somewhere in the signal path, on a group, the master or even the control room.
Activating “Constrain delay compensation” actually disables all plugins with a latency higher than x milliseconds (configurable in the settings) and is the easiest way to be able to play a VSTi when already having high latency plugins in the project.
